Almost one year has past

I cannot believe that it is almost one year since I wrote the first post on my blog. I intended to write often and insert photos, just like the other blogs that I have read, enjoyed, and learned from. However, that didn't happen.

I was inspired by many blogs and have begun to change my life in a big way. Very soon I am moving from southern California to rural Minnesota where I grew up. I have been here in CA for 25 years so it has become home for me, but it is time for a change. There were family reasons that initially began the process, but the blogs and library books that I have read have given substance to this new direction.

This next year should find me beginning a homesteading life, with gardens and probably goats, chickens, and a milk cow. I feel a delightful enthusiasm when I think of my new life, even though I know there will be challenging moments. I did grow up on a farm so I am aware of some of the challenges that I will face. But I think this move is for the best.
